Odgis + Co had the pleasure of designing the
Vornado 2020 Environmental, Social and Governance website and annual report. Incorporating ESG data in annual financial and sustainability reporting has become a
global trend. The site makes it easy to navigate the robust, comprehensive information. The interactive
infographic dashboards simplify and clarify their story with a compelling visual approach.
The benefit of the new website over the printed book is that it allows for interactivity with hyperlinks and animated infographics that bring the information to life. The design is kept clean by utilizing “drawers” of information that can expand and collapse. This gives the reader greater control over the experience. A menu of options allow the reader to navigate through the site on every page. The site lives within the main Vornado site, and can also be accessed by its own URL. It relates visually to its parent site but has its own distinctive “green” identity.
The PDF publication for the
annual report was designed as a series of single wide-format pages to optimize readability for both desktop or tablet viewing and printing on legal size paper. For the sake of efficiency, we worked with the same overall grid as the website so that the infographics could be used in both places with only minimal design modifications.
Vornado’s newest building projects,
The Farley Building and
Moynihan Train Hall, as well as
Penn 1 and
Penn 2 Plaza are displayed as videos on the site. These spectacular buildings reinvigorate the Penn District area of NYC. They are bound to be the next most popular “must see” and will improve the quality of life in this community and for all of NYC.
During this challenging year, Vornado showed their resilience, adapted, and worked through new challenges while providing
healthy environments for their employees and tenants. Poised for the future, they have meticulously prepared their properties for the new and better workplace.
