The Global Nexus Initiative (GNI) was created to examine the complex challenges posed by the intersection of climate change, energy demand, and global security.

Concentrations of greenhouse gases in the earth’s atmosphere are at their highest level in recorded history. Based on their first two years of work, the GNI has confirmed that it will be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to meet the goal of the Paris Agreement on climate change to limit temperature increases and decarbonize the global energy sector without a significant contribution from existing and new nuclear power.
